Dion Leonard and Gobi liven up the finish line of the 2026 Tournament

Battle of the Books welcomed Dion Leonard as the featured author for the 2026 battle season. Dion Leonard is the author of the wildly popular book Finding Gobi. Our readers were thrilled to hear Dion’s personal account of a stray dog joining him on an ultra-marathon in China and then running her way into his life. Adorable dog Gobi came with Dion — as our readers knew this story’s happy ending. Stay tuned to find out the special guest author for NWS Battle of the Books 2027!
