In 2024, the Battle of the Books Grand Traverse focused on the fun of reading with several light-hearted titles and a guest author to make everyone laugh. The Lightning Trials competition also was updated with new rules. We welcomed 57 teams with over 300 readers participating.
Of the eight book titles, popular choices among the readers were Manatee Summer, Wink, Max and the Midknights, and James and the Giant Peach.
Chris Grabenstein, author of Home Sweet Motel and the Mr. Lemoncello's Library series, shared fun facts about himself and his books to all teams and helped hand out the awards during the Tournament Finale.
