The Battle of the Books is a free, community-wide program that sparks upper elementary kids to discover books with a wide range of genres, styles, and stories. Adding an element of competition makes it fun and builds teamwork skills in young readers. Would you like to support our efforts?

You can help! Volunteer roles include team coaches, committee positions, and event helpers.

Our commitment is to keep this program free for all participants. Any size donation is appreciated and helps defray the costs of books, facility fees, prizes, and promotion.

Sponsors of the Battle of the Books Grand Traverse align themselves with a positive cause important to families, teachers, and business leaders in our community. Opportunities and benefits for corporate sponsorship of the Battle of the Books include:
- Recognition on print and online materials as well as every participant’s T-shirt.
- NWS events are re-broadcast on cable TV.
